OVERVIEW

Vietnam school tours are designed for students to learn about the culture, history and people in Vietnam. Joining this Vietnam North School Tour, students will have chance to explore the capital city of Vietnam, the charming of Sapa and immerse yourself in Ha Long Bay. In addition, getting to know about the local culture, customs and local people's life, doing community works are also included in the tour. All of the activities will be unforgettable and meaningful experience for students.

Day 1 Hanoi Arrival

Arriving at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be picked up and driven to your hotel.

If time permits, we would like to invite you to explore the Hanoi hidden lanes then enjoy lovely dinner before going back to rest at your hotel.

Hanoi City Tour- Train to Sapa

Day 2 Hanoi City Tour- Train to Sapa

Meal: Breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Night train to Lao Cai

We will have the whole day to explore Vietnam’s capital city to get an idea of Vietnam’s rich culture and history.

In this afternoon, we will have an exploration of Hanoi Old Quarter on foot. This bustling are of Hanoi is a maze of shopping streets and restaurants with a hotchpotch of architecture - traditional tube houses, religious buildings, artisans’ workshops and cottages, colonial houses and modern concrete edifices. We will have an introducing to the Vietnamese language as well.

Enjoy a performance of traditional Water Puppetry, an art form unique to northern Vietnam (a good, light-hearted introduction to our rural culture).

20:30 - Depart for Hanoi Railway Station to catch the night train to Lao Cai (Sleeper cabin with air-conditioning)

Lao Cai- Sapa - Village

Day 3 Lao Cai- Sapa - Village

Meal: Breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Homestay in the village

Around 6.30am - Arrive in Lao Cai and be transferred /to Sapa. The bus ride uphill to Sapa takes a little over an hour giving you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces.

After breakfast, we will drive to the remote villages which will be our home the next few days. We are introduced to our hosts who have us to sleep in their houses. Our tour guide will also show us around the villages to get know about the local culture and customs of the villages where we are working with for the coming days. Returning to our hosts for home cooked dinner and overnight in the village.

With ‘Homestay’ experience, your overnight accommodation is provided by a local family in their traditional house-on-silts. There’s no private room and you’ll sleep on the floor in a large communal area. The sleeping corner is set up with a single mattress (thin, but adequate), blankets (ditto), pillow and mosquito net. The restroom is at international standard and a few steps from the main house.

Day 4 Community services

Meal: Breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Homestay in the village

We will be ready for 02 full days doing community works. The detailed will be given later as it will be decided after discussing between our company, local community and travelling schools. Our goals for all activities are:

Projects are useful and life changing for the local community.

Students will be experience many things that they have never done or experienced before.

Students will bring a positive interaction with local community and they will understand about the local culture and custom.

Students will fully participate in all activities of community works but under the supervision to ensure that the works we do will reach the standard of a level which can be used for long term benefit.

Some of our projects are: repairing the classrooms and school yards, growing vegetable for boarding students, Installing water supplies, or building a vegetable garden for students who live far away from their home….

Students will have opportunity to interact with locals by doing some activities such as: experience harvesting crops with local people in the harvesting season, playing games, performing music, doing some handmade crafts… This is the great way to understand the local culture and break down barriers.

Village - Sapa-  Night train to Hanoi

Day 5 Village - Sapa- Night train to Hanoi

Meal: Breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Night train

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the hosts and head back to Sapa town.

We are free to explore the town, its market and sloping streets with many colorful handicrafts.

16:30 - A car takes you to the train station. Enjoy dinner before getting on the night train back to Hanoi.

Hanoi - Ha Long

Day 6 Hanoi - Ha Long

Meal: Breakfast, lunch, dinner/ Accommodation: Private junk

You will be back to Hanoi this early morning. You will have chance to see the beautiful and quiet city at this time of the day.

We will have breakfast before driving to Halong city. Upon arrival, we will board the private junk and start to cruise towards the boundaries of Ha Long bay while a delicious lunch with fresh seafood is served (vegetarian menus available).

Make yourself at ease and just relax after lunch. Hundreds of emerging limestone rock formations will parade all around us for about 2 hours before our first stop. We will reach then the perfect spot, where the waters of Ha Long and Bai Tu Long hit and wave together. Let's get ready for a closer look to the water and explore the bay in depth paddling on our own kayak.

We’ll get back on the junk before sunset, while we will sail till the anchorage area where we will spend the night offshore. The dinner will be served. Overnight on board in our cozy air-conditioned cabin with en-suite bathroom.

Ha Long- Hanoi - Departure

Day 7 Ha Long- Hanoi - Departure

Meal: Brunch/ Accommodation: Not any

Wake up smoothly while witnessing the silence of the beautifully misty bay.

This morning, we will hop later on a bamboo boat to visit a secluded floating village surrounded by mountains. We will trace our way among numerous floating houses and small rowing boats that are used in everyday life as vehicle, itinerant shops, fishing utility and even sometimes as an overnight shelter.

We will be back on the boat to start cruising back to the pier. From 9.30, a brunch will be served. Take a last glance at the emerging rocks, standing still as the eternal guardians of a kingdom, we are about to reach the pier.

Once in Terra Firma, we will be transferred from Halong to airport in Hanoi for the flight home.
