General information about Thien Cung Cave

Thien Cung Cave is located near Dau Go Cave, to the North of Dau Go Island, 4 kilometers from Tuan Chau Marina. The cave is called Thien Cung Cave because there is a layer of phosphorescent inside that emits fanciful light, creating a glistening scenery. Besides, there is a door connecting with the sky, creating a splendid view when the sunlight shines.

Being formed about two million years ago and discovered in 1993, the cave is identified as a relic of the Soi Nhu culture, distributed in the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. Until now, most of the archaeological remains are at the entrance and the cave floor; the most outstanding is the sediment of Melania snail shell whitened by carbonate.
